the portrait project {week 5}

A portrait of my children…because photos should been seen and shared.

This little girl LOVES to dress herself and comes up with the most creative combination of clothing. We often see her in a dress on top of another dress on top of a skirt with a pair of leggings in a rainbow of random colours. She then completes her outfit with a bag or two of her most random possessions.

Photo taken at 1/250 sec at f/4, ISO 1000, 80mm.

In this image, she got ready for school and chose to wear something ‘normal’. A pair of blue jeans, a t-shirt, a zip up hoodie with pockets completed with a pink scarf her grandma knitted her. She came out of her room looking totally put together and I was quite surprised and impressed.

Every baby need a naked on the potty picture, yes?

Used an on-camera flash with flash head pointing to my right.

We are in the process of potty training his big ones. Now that we’ve been together for 8 months, we know his signs and could tell pretty accurately when he needs to go, which is usually around dinner time. When we see a sign, we quickly whip him off to the bathroom and put him on the potty so he gets used to doing his business there instead of in his diaper.

Sometimes, he just doesn’t go.

Instead, he uses his little feet to scoot himself backwards and moves out of the washroom. Sometimes, he even tries to get out of the potty.

How About You?

Do you have any photos of your kids on the potty? Do you use yours to blackmail motivate your kids?

My sister [who lives 6 hours away] is working with my niece on potty training. Every cell phone photo and video I get seems to come from potty time! She is such a ham! I think she thinks it is her stage. Sweet photos. I love Elle’s fearless fashion sense.
