the portrait project {week 1}

I’ve decided to start a new series on this blog…

Inspired by my friends over at The Happy Family Movement, The Portrait Project is a weekly post of photos taken that week.

There are a few reasons why I want to do this, the main one being that these photos are way too precious to be sitting on the hard drive unseen.

I also want to do this for our family so they can see what we’re up to. It’s also neat for them to see how these little people they love is growing bigger and more beautiful every day week.

And so, here is Week 1.

elle’s portrait

We were at a wedding and to Elle’s delight, they provided bubbles for the guests. Elle wore a cotton floral dress with Chinese buttons made locally by Redfish Kids.

10 minutes before bedtime, we hung out in Jay’s room (which is still decorated with his big sister’s portraits…gotta get on that). This kid is getting big so fast he’s outgrowing my favourite sleeper for him, a super soft organic bamboo sleeper from Silkberry Baby.

With 2 photos a week, at the end of the year I’ll have 104 photos to put into a photo book for these kids.

Awesome! Stoked you’re doing this! I love going back and looking through all of ours. We’re getting close to 100 weeks in! It’s fun to watch them change from week to week. Enjoy!
